I have Windows XP Home Edition and IE5.5. I sincerely doubt that!! If you have somehow been able to force an install of IE5.5 onto an XP system (which has a minimum requirement The status bar does not do anything, the cursor does not turn into an egg timer, nor does the computer freeze - just nothing happens.

This morning OE is hanging on start up. Restarted etc etc; virus checked, compacted, defragmented. Its not an ISP issue since I can use my e-mail a/c on a laptop. I'm still receiving e-mails on this PC too but can't read them - the only command that will work is to shut it down, the egg timer otherwise sits there .
